Cumin Mint Skyr Raita with Onion Tadka

Description
This delicious, flavor packed raita is easy to pull together and packs a punch thanks to the freshly ground spices that go in. Thick, creamy plain skyr gets combined with aromatic spices, fresh herbaceous mint and cilantro and a squeeze of lime for a zesty refreshing dip.
Make a quick onion tadka filled with onions, Aleppo pepper and garlic to garnish the raita with and enjoy with fresh veggies for a perfect afternoon snack or appetizer for your next gathering!
Ingredients
Cumin Mint Raita:
3/4 Cup
Icelandic Provisions Traditional Plain Skyr
1 Teaspoon
Cumin Seeds
1 Teaspoon
Fennel Seeds
1/2 Teaspoon
Salt
1/2
Lime, squeezed
2 Tablespoon
Chopped Mint
2 Tablespoon
Chopped Cilantro
Onion Tadka:
1/4 Cup
Thinly Sliced Red Onion
1
Garlic Clove, grated
1 Teaspoon
Aleppo Pepper
1/2 Teaspoon
Salt
1 Teaspoon
Cumin Seeds
1 Tablespoon
Chopped Mint
1 Tablespoon
Chopped Cilantro
3 Tablespoon
Olive Oil
Recipe
Step 1:
Roast raw fennel and cumin seeds. Once toasted grind into a fine powder. Divide cumin powder for the raita and tadka.
Step 2:
Mix together spices, Icelandic Provisions Plain Skyr, salt, lime juice, mint, and cilantro and set aside.
Step 3:
To make the Onion Tadka, add all of the Onion Tadka ingredients, except the olive oil, into a medium bowl.
Step 4:
Heat up the olive oil on a skillet until shimmery and very hot. Pour the hot oil directly over the onion tadka ingredients. They should sizzle and sputter a little.
Step 5:
Pour the Onion tadka on top of the raita and serve with fresh veggies and naan/pita wedges. Enjoy!
